Most of these strands have been strung by Francois Villaret. He uses a nylon coated steel wire (7 or 12 kg strength). The silver content of most items is high, rarely less than 92.5% (Sterling), sometimes more. The described gold content is based on an estimate deduced with some confidence from its color and appearance, but only a thorough technical test could tell exactly. All stone colors are guaranteed of a natural color, except for some rubies and emeralds which have probably been heated for color enhancement. Most necklaces measure about 42-44 cm in length.
