Shipping & Return Policy

We use postal services for all our small items mentioned as “free shipping”. Your purchase is safely packed and sent by registered airmail. It usually takes a week to 12 days to receive your parcel. Since the opening of this website in 2005, no item has ever been lost, therefore rest assured that you will receive your package with certainty.

It is seldom advantageous for your finances to use DHL or other courier services. Therefore, for large or grouped shipment (of small items) we now use Logispost (air) service. Calculation of its costs are based on volume/weight. We will advise you if this case should arise. This service can also be used to ship some items in the “contact us for shipping” category.

On request, we can also use Express Mail Service (EMS) but at an additional cost. In this case, please contact us before proceeding to your online purchase.

Some destinations are not covered by either these two services.

It is necessary to precisely calculate a shipping cost to your destination for all items mentioned with the quote “Contact us for shipping”. Prices shown on the website exclude these costs and you are required to contact us before proceeding to your purchase. For these items of larger volume and weight (furniture and architecture, stone & ceramic…) the mode of shipping will be sea freight. We will take care of this for you by using the services of Pan Cargo service (see their web site as an introduction This is a professional company, also based in Chiang Mai, where all is carefully packed. Additionally if insurance is needed, it is charged at 4% of your selection value. Pan Cargo will provide this option on request in the case of a sea freight shipment. By purchasing more than one item you can of course reduce your shipping costs. Generally the larger the shipment, the cheaper the cost per item.

Please let us know your selection by mentioning the item(s) code(s) or by using the form “Get the shipping price” to be found in your shopping cart. In order to do this, just add your selection to the cart, then the codes of all your selected items will automatically appear in the mail form : “Get the shipping price” at the bottom of the page. We will then come back to you within a few hours (as time-difference permits) with a shipping quotation. It may happen that, for large shipments to very exotic destinations, this quotation will take sometime to get to you. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Customs clearance and transportation charges within the country of destination are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Under the Bo does not make a profit from shipping goods.

The minimum sea freight charge is for a cubic meter (in which several small items may fit), and from Thailand to any international port shipping costs generally between US$400 and US$600.

On arrival, some countries charge only VAT, for others VAT is additional to Customs fees. A custom agent/forwarder should preferably be hired to help facilitate clearance, unless you already have knowledge of procedure. And depending on how far you live from the nearest international port, trucking and handling fees might well be costly, especially in relation to an originally low-priced purchase.

But if, after all, it does not matter to you, you’re too much in love with that desirable object to let it pass, we will help you to the best of our ability to give you the useful information regarding your shipment (such as crate size and approximate weight). You will then be able to obtain a quotation from one or several agents (customs brokers & forwarders) that are available in the yellow pages of your town or of the nearest one.

For your information: In order to reduce the price of voluminous or heavy items usually sent by airmail (mentioned as “Free shipping”) we advise you to group them together with other items marked as “Contact us for shipping”. Your selection will then be sent by sea freight. This will allow you to get a total price decrease by sometimes as much as half of the displayed price. Of course we will refund the difference.

We are confident in what we sell and want our customers to feel the same way, therefore all our artifacts come with a money back guarantee if found not to be as stated within the item description.

But for obvious reasons this guarantee does not include the refund of shipping & insurance fees. All goods must be returned in exactly the same condition as received, and by using the same or equivalent packaging material. Any items you purchased from us can be returned within not more than one week of receipt if found not to be as described.
