Carved wood with a shagreen separator. One of a pair of protective hanger, afixed on top of the entrance door, the male one at a corner, the female one at the other corner,the two holes are used to insert a string, and on the string you have a rosary of coins (kepeng). And it was often the case, the shagreen (or galuchat – untanned stingray skin) ornament is supposed to play a magical fonction.
