Carved and painted wooden head of Nandi, the sacred bull, vehicle (vahana), and gatekeeper of the Hindu god Shiva. It symbolizes strength, loyalty, unwavering devotion, purity, justice, and righteousness.
Historically, large bull heads like this were used as processional heads during festivals such as the Oachira Kalakettu in Kerala. In some traditions, keeping a Nandi statue or mask at home is considered auspicious for attracting prosperity, stability, and divine blessings, and is sometimes placed facing the northeast as a Vastu remedy for business.
