Borneo Dayak paddle BO282
Exceptional ceremonial paddle, decorated with superb Dayak motifs carved identically on both its sides. Ironwood, inlaid with cast tin. Acquired in 1985 from Mungguk, a longhouse on a small tributary upstream of the M’balloh River, itself a major tributary of the mighty Kapuas River, which flows through West Kalimantan province, from the center of the island to the west coast of Borneo.
