YAO Paintings   
This set of scrolls has been SOLD. We keep it posted here as an example of what should be a complete set,
with the names of the various characters depicted on each scroll.
It dates possibly from the years 1880-1900.
All 16 larger scrolls measure 112 cm high by 47 cm wide (44 3/32" x 18 1/2")
The Dragon bridge is 22 x 322 cm (8 31/32" x 10.564 ft), and the 3 Messengers 56 x 30 cm (22 1/16" x 11 13/16")

A : Yen Si: one of the Three Pure Ones, holding the bowl containing the pill of immortality.

B : Unidentified, but possibly Tang Yun-suei (Marshal Teng).

C : Seng Tsiu, the Master of the Saints.

D : Heng Fei, the Ancestors.

E : Tai Wai, the High Constable.

F : Major Altar Hoi Fan, in his role as a Leading Master in the rite of the Ascension of the Sword Ladder.

G : Tsiou Yun-suei, Marshal Chao.

H : T’in Fo Tei Fo, the Governor of the Waters.

I : Lei T’in Sai, the Li Celestial Master.

J : To Ta, one of the Three Pure Ones, intended to represent Lao-tzu, holding his fan.

K : Leng Pu, one of the Three Pure Ones, holding his sceptre.

L : Nyut Hung, the Jade Emperor.

M : Yang Kin Sui Fo, the Governor of the World.

N : Tsiang T’in Sai, the Chang Celestial Master.

O : Tsiep Tin Ling Hung, the Lords of the 10 Tribunals of Hades.

P : Hoi Fan, the Sea Banner.

Q : The messengers, includ. the Enforcer of Chastity, the Enforcer of Fasting and the 5 Banners of King P’an’s Knights.

R : Tom To Luang Tsiau, the Dragon Bridge to the Great Tao.
